Brant became curious about the possible intersection between Mesoamerica and Book of Mormon lands and peoples after studying the work of John Sorenson. He is one of the few LDS scholars with expertise in Mesoamerican studies.
I met Brant at the Interpreter Foundation's annual picnic and proposed the idea that he share his knowledge of the Book of Mormon, and he was eager to help.
As an author, Brant is an editor's dream: attentive to deadlines, solid in his scholarship, and open to feedback.
As a person, he is kind, humble, and without guile. Getting to know Brant and the other authors has been an unexpected bonus.
